Social

Delta Tau Delta is a social fraternity. We do all of our work during the week, but when it comes to the weekends, we are known for our social activities. Among these activities we have date parties, house parties, formals, sorority exchanges, theme parties, and sometimes just brotherhood get-togethers.

We are known on campus for throwing the best parties. Campus-wide, people come out to the Delt house for a night of fantastic fun. With our first house party of the 2004 spring semester we drew in over 700 people. Our semesterly theme parties always draw in over 1000 people, which is more than 1/6 our campus population.

Speaking of theme parties, the Delts throw many over the course of the semester. Our biggest theme parties are Spelunking, and FUBAR. Spelunking occurs in the fall semester, for this event we decorate the house like a cave. Many guys wear miner caps, and tinfoil stalagtytes hang from the ceiling. In the spring we host FUBAR, which is an army themed party. Delts wear camoflage and dog tags, and the front of the house is decorated with camoflaged sandbags and sometimes even a jeep or two on the lawn.We also have themed date parties like our halloween party that takes place on the spirit of Peoria.

Aside from themes we have many other social events, such as formal and semi-formal, which happen once a semester. We have exchanges with sororties, like our toga exchange. The girls come over to the house and we have events such as jello wrestling, and pudding tug- of-war. What more can you want out of a social fraternity? Whatever it is the Delts will always give it to you.
